Obedience courses run for six weeks. The Beginners’ courses are for dogs aged four months upwards. The course is more of a ‘train the owner course’; i.e. we show you the correct way to train your dog. Only positive methods are used.

All dogs up-to-date vaccination certificates must be provided.
At every lesson, you will need to bring a small bag of treats as well as water for your dogs. Your dog must have a collar and a lead. For more information see our rules and regulations page.
The course covers the following: walking at heel on a loose lead, SIT, DOWN, LEAVE, COME, SIT STAY and DOWN STAY as well as teaching your dog to listen even though there are other dogs around and other distractions. A fair amount of animal behaviour issues are also dealt with on this course.
At the end of the course is an assessment and should you want to continue with training (more advanced), you and your dog will need to successfully complete this.
The next level after Beginners’ Obedience is Novice.
FEES
Each six week course costs R400 per dog. Club membership is R200 per annum, and this is a family membership. All fees are payable in advance.

Training in Empangeni is on a Monday night from 17:45 – 18h30 at the Empangeni, Christian School Fields, Louis Botha Avenue.
Training in Richards Bay is on a Wednesday night from 17:45 – 18h30 at the Richardia Primary School, 37 Via Richardia, Arboretum, Richards Bay.
